A 14-week private pilot ground school begins February 13 at Jet Air Group in Green Bay.
Classes will be held Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., February 13 through May 15, 2014. Registration is required.
This class is ideal for anyone interested in pursuing a private pilot certificate or exploring the fundamentals of aviation. It is a comprehensive 35-hour course that covers all subjects required by the FAA. Students will learn about topics such as aerodynamics, weather, regulations, and flight planning.
Ground school prepares students to take the FAA Private Pilot Knowledge Test, which is a required step in flight training. Students who successfully complete the class will have the option to take the FAA test (additional fee applies). Jet Air Group offers FAA testing on-site in its FAA-approved testing center.
The $375 course fee includes books and materials, as well as a training session in Jet Air’s flight simulator. Students may sign up for an introductory flight lesson in an airplane for an additional fee. Flight training is available year-round.
This course is designed for students age 15 and up. Students may begin flight training at any age.
Private pilot ground school is a great option for students who enjoy learning in a classroom environment on a set schedule. The class is an opportunity to save money, stay on track, and meet other students who are interested in aviation. Customized one-on-one training is available as an alternative to the class.
Jet Air Group flight instructor Chris McClellan will teach the course. He is an instrument-rated flight instructor (CFII), commercial pilot in single- and multi-engine airplanes, and an advanced ground instructor with several years of general aviation experience.
